The Urceus is a project to promote tap water use. It is inspired in the common ceramic jars used and produced in roman times redesigned to fit the current techniques and functionalities. We developed two models: one for the catering industry, formally true to the original (fig. 1) and another with a modified profile to fit a domestic refrigerator. (fig. 4). We also added a cap to avoid flavor contamination. (fig. 2 and 3)

The project was promoted by the Municipal Water Company of Tarragona (Ematsa) and with the historic support of the Catalan Institute of Classic Archeology (ICAC) and the collaboration of the Tortosa Art School in the development of the casting and production.
